01forward is a Detroit-based rapper and producer who has shown promise of pushing the culture forward with his heartfelt poetry and soulful production on his debut rap album, ‘Velvet’. Already in his short career, he has dropped a culmination of beat tapes that have shown that he is one of the most versatile producers out today. Influences of J Dilla, Madlib, and Knxwledge shine through his production. Matched with the dense, culture-moving poetry that is inspired by the likes of MIKE, Navy Blue, Earl Sweatshirt, and Kendrick Lamar. But 01forward doesn’t want to stop there, and he pushed the envelope even more with his sophomore album, ‘Crimson’. An album of overcoming trauma, and building upon the Velvet sound. By the beginning of 2024, 01forward intends to wrap up his Velvet trilogy with his 3rd album, 'Lotus'. Through this release, he looks to be one of the front-runners to pushing Hip Hop forward this decade.
